Semiconductor devices may use a fast or ultrafast fuse as semiconductor devices heat rapidly when excess current flows.
The fastest blowing fuses are designed for the most sensitive electrical equipment, where even a short exposure to an overload current could be very damaging.
The amount of energy spent by the fuse element to clear te electrical fault. This term is normally used in short circuit conditions and the values are used to perform co-ordination studies in electrical networks. The energy is mainly dependent on current and time for fuses as well as the available fault level and system voltage.
The breaking capacity is the maximum current that can safely be interrupted by the fuse. Generally, this should be higher than the prospective short circuit current. Some fuses are designated High Rupture Capacity and are usually filled with sand or a similar material.

2008, SINOFUSE improved the fuse resistors process in the basis of the same products in Europe. In the later, SINOFUSE successfully marketed this fuse resistor in China. In the end of 2008, SINOFUSE R&D a new product named RT302 series 80VDC full range protection fuse, and in the beginning of 2011, SINOFUSE get the honor of National Innovation Foundation of China. Now RT302 fuse has become a standard selection in power supply line.
2009, SINOFUSE began the R&D of RSZ307 series fast acting dc fuse which has been the first company who is approved by CCC.
2010, SINOFUSE began the R&D of solar pv fuse, wind energy fuse, railway fuse etc. and began the exploring of R&D of cylinder fuse and US style fuse.
2011, SINOFUSE finished volume production of railway fuse and high voltage dc fuse.
2012, SINOFUSE finished volume production of solar pv fuse and holder.
