Introduction to Green Silicon Carbide:
Silicon carbide is mainly classified into black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide. Silicon carbide, also known as carborundum, is the most widely used and most economical non-oxide hi-tech refractory materials among current C, N and B nonoxide refractory materials. It is also known as fire sand.
Application Scope of Green Silicon Carbide:
1.Green silicon carbide can be used as bonded abrasive products and coated abrasive products, and for free grinding and polishing.
2.It is applicable to processing cast iron, hard alloys, titanium alloy, high-speed steel etc.,
3.grinding non-metallic materials such as glass, ceramics, stones, agate, high-level jewelry and jadeware,
4. heating elements and heat components; and hard and fragile non-metallic materials including hard alloys, optical glass, agate and ceramics.
5. It can also be used to make high-class refractory materials, electric heating elements and electric elements.
Additionally, there is cubic silicon carbide which is yellowish green crystal produced with special process and can be used to make grinding tools applicable for fine processing of bearings, making the surface roughness decrease from Ra32--0.16um to Ra0.04--0.02 um by primary processing.
