SS Vertical Basket Top Discharge Centrifuges are the most versatile and most effective method for separating solids and liquids and offer many advantages over other types of solid/liquid separation methods. They can process the liquids with a wide range of viscosities and high solids content and are capable of removing most unbound moisture without thermal processing.
Working principle:
Motor drives the clutch to pass the power to the basket via a triangle adhesive belt make the basket rotating around its axle line in high speed and form the centrifugal force field. The mixture to be separated is introduced directly into the basket via a tangential pipe and enters into the centrifugal force field. The solids and liquids are separated under the action of the centrifugal force using a filter media ( usually a cloth) which mounted over a supporting mesh and are supported together inside the rotating basket.
Under the action of the centrifugal force, the liquid is forced out through the filter media and the solids retained within the filter media inside the baske. The feed rate and/or basket speed are adjusted so that the feed rate matches the filtration rate as the solids covers the basket wall and forming an evenly distributed cake, the liquid drains out of the basket from liquid outlet at the bottom of the machine, the solids deposited in the basket is discharged manually from the top of the machine with the centrifuge stopped.
Advantages of SS Vertical Basket Top Manual Discharge Filter Centrifuges:
- High Separation Forces & Low Final Moisture - Filtering Centrifuges can generate over 1,000 gravities of separation force and can remove most of the unbound moisture.
- Batch working & Flexibility - Filtering Centrifuges produce highly repeatable results because it is a batch operation centrifuge. The time of separation can be adjusted according to the customer requirement to the moisture content. The batch working centrifuges can produce exceptionally dry solid cakes.
- Capacity of each batch - Solids retention capacity per batch depends on size of the centrifuge.
- Particle Size - Given the correct feed conditions, feed speed and filter cloth, basket centrifuges can dewater solids size from 2 microns to 10,000 microns. For smaller particles or very low solids content (<3%) we have GQ tubular centrifuge available for prefect separation.
