Lipstick looks very sexy on the lips, but it is very vulgar on the glassware. "No lipstick" seems to be the simplest solution, but with the arrival of the holiday cocktail party, this situation is unlikely to happen. Fortunately, there is a quick way to solve this problem: give the glass a little lick.
I was a little dubious that saliva would do the trick, so I put on some lipstick, poured myself a bourbon, and performed some side-by-side sips.

The left glass was licked, and as you can see there is very little lipstick on it. The one on the right was not, and as you can see there is a lot of lipstick on it. So, if you wear lipstick, and wish to keep it off of your glass, just give the rim a lick.
You're probably thinking "who does that?" but don't worry, I was skeptical at first, too. At a crowded party, how are you supposed to hide the fact that you're licking your drink?
If you try on the party, you will be very surprised to find those who are easier than expected. When you drink cocktails, secretly licking the glass, and then naturally go to the crowd, no one will notice that perhaps the bartender may have caught a glimpse of your trick, but what is the relationship? As long as your lipstick is fixed for most of the night. Try it yourself!
